Background
My purpose in creating this opera was to really get in touch with a real project and see what I could encounter and learn besides design.
Because I knew I had enough confidence in design, I liked to research and put all my ideas into practice, but I still felt that I needed some experience to learn how to communicate with the director, my team and mentors.
Because English is my second language, this part was the hardest. So I listened to the opera repeatedly and watched related movies and stories in order to make the opera clearer and easier to remember in my mind. I also agreed with the director to design the color and style of the costumes according to the set design.

Design Process
For this project, the director and I maintained the same view at the beginning. This opera will become three very different styles and different worlds, from elves and fairies, to lovers, and then to the actors in the play within the play. The final effect is also very good. I did a lot of research and referenced some high fashion styles. For example, fairies have power, so I borrowed from YSL's smoking suits, and at the same time there is a sense of power in business suits. For Puck, he drew on the image of Chaplin and the Joker, who likes to play pranks, be humorous and joke. The lovers are more like lost in the forest, as if they were drugged, so the costumes are colorful and psychedelic, but the inside is sober and relaxed white. For mechnicals, they are working people based on the bottom of society and also represent most outdoor work.
