Background

There are nine opera scenes in this play, namely: The Enchanted Pig, Rusalka, Dido and Aeneas, Cosi fan tutte, La Cenerentola, Turn of the Screw, Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, Street Scene. After fully communicating with the director, I first did sufficient research and reference, and found relevant pictures and styles. I have a full understanding of each opera segment and have very novel design ideas. Each play has a completely different feel in modern times.

Design Process

The play was designed, produced and performed in just three days, with a budget of only £250. With the help of assistants, we scoured the entire warehouse to prepare costumes and accessories. The final combination of these clothes, combined with the lighting and background on the stage, was surprisingly good.
